The Old Dominion Barn Dance is bigger and better in 2017! In the short time since the inaugural show of its March 2015 revival, the Barn Dance has outgrown its home at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. In early 2017 our show moved to its new home, the much larger Beacon Theatre in Hopewell, VA, just 15 minutes south of Richmond.
An historic landmark built in 1928, the beautiful and newly renovated Beacon Theater offers more seating, more well-lit parking, a larger lobby area and more dressing rooms for the stars. They also offer refreshments that are allowed in the auditorium, including snacks and bar beverages. And the really great news is that the extra seating allows for more flexible ticket pricing, which translates into lower priced tickets in some sections of the theater. There is also plenty of handicapped seating and parking available.
Conveniently located just south of I-295 at 401 North Main St. in Hopewell, the Beacon has quickly become a popular destination for great concerts since its renovation in 2015. It also offers a box office that is open M-F for your convenience, where you can purchase tickets and choose your preferred seating, or you can call 804-446-3457. Tickets for best available seating can also be purchased on their website, thebeacontheatreva.com, and don't forget, the Barn Dance also offers season tickets. And now for your dining pleasure--or just a quick bite to eat--we are glad to announce the opening of the newest Boathouse Restaurant, located just a few blocks from the theater on the serene Appomattox River.
All of us at the Barn Dance hope you will join us at the Beacon Theatre for a great afternoon or evening of entertainment. We thank you for your patronage as always, and for helping us keep traditional country and bluegrass music alive and well in central Virginia. See you at the Barn Dance!

to the official online home of the Old Dominion Barn Dance! As Virginia’s oldest country music tradition, here you will find information regarding
shows, performers and the history of the legendary country music show.
Following its original run from 1946 to 1957, the Barn Dance enjoyed several revivals throughout the years, one in 1973 and another in 1991. Neither revival sustained for more than a few months, but in 2015 organizers felt it was the perfect time to reintroduce audiences to the show that once rivaled the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Here you can learn about its past, present and future, as well as the country music stars of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
So sit back, relax and take in some of the magic of a Virginia tradition, and entertainment like you’ll find nowhere else in town. We’re proud that it's back, and excited to be bringing you a good old fashioned, country & bluegrass music variety show.
See you at the Barn Dance!
